Children's furniture differs from regular furniture in that it is designed to grow with the child, offering multi-functional solutions that adapt to their changing needs throughout childhood. As a result, furniture that supports both daily life and learning at different stages has become highly appealing to parents. But are these multi-functional children's furniture products as effective as they claim to be? And how many families actually choose to buy them?
According to a recent survey, 70% of people recognize the value of children's multifunctional furniture, yet only less than 30% have actually purchased it. This gap between awareness and actual purchase raises some interesting questions.
Interestingly, the survey revealed a contradiction: while 69.2% of households believe it’s necessary to buy such furniture, 76.9% of respondents have not done so. A store manager from a well-known children's furniture brand, Xingsuo, mentioned that although most parents inquire about multi-functional options, very few end up buying them.
The study table and growth bed are among the top choices for parents looking for versatile furniture. Specifically, 41.7% of families are willing to invest in a study desk, while 33.3% are interested in a growth bed. At Chengwaicheng Children's Furniture World in Beijing, store managers noted that growth beds are more popular than traditional kids' beds. Some brands that offer a wide range of growth bed designs report that these items account for nearly half of their sales.
When it comes to purchasing decisions, 87% of parents prioritize safety and practicality. In well-known furniture stores like Beijing Actual House and Chengwaicheng, growing beds often come with safety railings and stairs, and study tables typically feature rounded edges. Moreover, most children's furniture brands prefer pine wood and water-based paint to ensure environmental safety and quality.
In terms of budget, 53.8% of online respondents limit their spending on children's multifunctional furniture between 1,000 and 3,000 yuan. However, this price range usually allows for the purchase of just one standard piece of furniture, and some growth beds can even exceed this amount. Despite the cost, many parents still see the long-term benefits of investing in smart, adaptable furniture that grows with their children.
