Xinjiang Power has made a significant investment in its power grid infrastructure, setting a new record for scale and ambition. In 2012 alone, the company allocated 11 billion yuan to build a stronger and more efficient power grid. This effort involved launching 118 transmission and transformation projects with voltages of 110 kV and above, marking a major step forward in modernizing the region's energy system.
At a recent press conference on quality service, Xinjiang Electric Power Company highlighted its ongoing efforts to improve customer experience. According to the company’s spokesperson, Hong Wei, the company invested 38.15 million yuan in developing an integrated payment management platform across Xinjiang. This initiative led to the opening of 35 new business sites, 66 standardized power supply stations, 8 new charging points, and 64 cooperative business offices. Additionally, 422 other financial and third-party collection points were established, making it easier for residents to pay their electricity bills.
The improvements have significantly enhanced convenience and accessibility. In Urumqi, a "10-minute payment circle" has been created in the city center, while rural areas now have payment points in nearly every village. These developments reflect the company's commitment to providing efficient and user-friendly services to all customers.
Looking ahead, Deputy General Manager Ye Jun announced that in 2013, Xinjiang Power will continue to focus on expanding both the urban and rural power grids. The company plans to invest approximately 5 billion yuan to further enhance service quality. Efforts will include improving online and mobile self-service payment options in cities, making it even easier for people to manage their electricity accounts. With these initiatives, Xinjiang is steadily moving toward a more connected and sustainable energy future.
