Your organization should assign a specific person to handle the operation of the lift, and these individuals need to develop detailed safety protocols based on your company’s unique setup. These protocols should also include necessary precautions, and they should be posted in a visible location. All operators must receive proper training and pass an assessment before they’re allowed to operate the lift. Every morning, before beginning work, the operator must conduct a comprehensive inspection of the lift’s electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems. Test the lift by running it up and down a few times to ensure everything functions smoothly. Pay particular attention to the precision of the platform's alignment when it stops at each floor—any noticeable gaps could indicate a problem. Before starting the lift, the operator must secure the movable guardrails on either side of the platform. Operating the lift with open guardrails is strictly prohibited. In case of an emergency while the platform is moving, you can use the emergency stop switch to halt operations, but under normal circumstances, this button should not be used to stop the lift. The operator should ensure that the weight distribution of the items being transported on the platform is as even as possible to avoid overloading. Overloading or carrying hazardous materials like flammable or explosive substances is strictly forbidden. Additionally, no one should be carried on the platform, and bystanders should stay away from the operational and lifting areas during work hours. Operators must never leave their post unattended while working. Cleaning, lubricating, or making repairs to the platform during operation is strictly prohibited. Once the workday is complete, the operator must disconnect the power supply, lock the control panel, and fill out the shift handover logbook before leaving. If the lift malfunctions or operates abnormally, notify maintenance staff immediately. If there’s any risk of mechanical failure or injury, stop the lift right away, disconnect the main power supply in the machine room, and inform the management team. The lift can only be used again after thorough repairs and inspections. These procedures are essential for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of hydraulic freight elevators. Following them diligently will help prevent accidents and maintain the longevity of the equipment.
