In an effort to enhance the county’s fire prevention and control capabilities and elevate the standards of fire management, the government of Yongchun County in Fujian Province has recently taken significant steps. They have focused on the construction and maintenance of fire hydrants across various townships and towns, issuing specific guidelines through official documents.
According to these guidelines, by May 15 this year, a total of 181 new fire hydrants will be installed in 16 townships, including Hengkou, Xiayang, and Hangzikou. Once installed, local townships and villages will be responsible for the daily management and upkeep of these critical fire-fighting facilities.
To ensure proper implementation, the county government will conduct bi-annual inspections of the maintenance and management of fire hydrants in each township. These inspections will be carried out alongside the assessment of fire safety responsibility targets. Fire brigades at the county level and other relevant departments will also include the construction and maintenance of these hydrants in their inspection scope, ensuring that all townships fulfill their obligations effectively.
Additionally, the county government has announced financial incentives for townships that actively participate in the installation of fire hydrants. Each completed hydrant will receive a subsidy of either 500 or 1,000 yuan, depending on the circumstances. On the other hand, townships that fail to complete the required installations and pass the acceptance tests by the deadline will face mandatory measures to ensure compliance.
This initiative reflects the growing commitment of local authorities to improve public safety and strengthen emergency response systems. By investing in infrastructure like fire hydrants, the county is taking a proactive approach to prevent fires and protect its residents.
