The world's first zinc-bromine battery energy storage mobile power system passed acceptance

The world's first zinc-bromine flow battery storage system that is both energy-removable and mobile, known as the "New Green and Environmentally-Friendly Zinc and Bromine Batteries Energy Storage Removable Power System," has successfully passed inspection and acceptance. It has received high praise from the State Grid Anhui Power Company’s expert team. This innovative technology marks a significant milestone in the field of green energy storage and portable power solutions.

Developed as a key science and technology project under the State Grid Anhui Power Company, this initiative was launched in 2013 and led by the Anhui Huaibei Power Supply Company. The project aimed to explore new, sustainable energy storage methods that could enhance grid stability and improve power service quality.

As part of the project, Anhui Meineng Company’s zinc-bromide flow battery was selected as the core energy storage solution, while a domestically certified vehicle chassis was used as the base for the mobile system. Through extensive research and experimentation, the team modified several production standards previously set by the American joint venture JBB (ZBB), adapting them to local conditions and improving overall performance.

This system offers multiple advantages, including portability, large capacity (up to 100kWh), noise-free operation, environmental friendliness, fast switching capabilities, and an uninterrupted power supply function. These features make it highly suitable for various applications, such as emergency power backup, remote area power supply, and supporting renewable energy integration. The project not only enhances the company's technical capabilities but also supports its long-term goal of delivering more reliable and sustainable power services to customers.
