The standard was first released on August 16, 2006, and became effective on January 1, 2007. It is currently active and has not been replaced. This standard was developed by the China Iron and Steel Association and drafted by several key organizations, including Shanghai Special Steel Tube Co., Ltd., the Metallurgical Industry Information Standard Institute, and Wuxi Zhenda Steel Pipe Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
