In the first half of 2024, the coal industry in Henan Province experienced a modest growth in production and sales, though the pace remained relatively slow. Total coal production reached 97.43 million tons, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 4.3%. Meanwhile, coal sales totaled 98.45 million tons, rising by 3.1% compared to the same period last year. However, the transportation sector saw a decline, with coal railway transport volume dropping to 27.62 million tons, down by 12.3% from the previous year. On the financial side, the province's major coal enterprises reported a significant increase in receivables, reaching 4.21 billion yuan—an 80.4% rise compared to the same period last year. At the end of June, coal inventories stood at 3.58 million tons, an increase of 230,000 tons compared to the same time in 2023.
