Quartz Stone is Harder than Pure Artificial Stone
Artificial stone and quartz stone can be confusing for many consumers, as they are both man-made materials. However, there are key differences between them. Pure artificial stone is typically made from acrylic resin and stone powder, which are bonded together. Since acrylic is relatively soft, this type of countertop can easily get scratched or marked. On the other hand, quartz stone is also a type of artificial stone, but it contains up to 92% natural quartz crystal, making it much harder, more durable, and resistant to scratches, wear, and impact.
To distinguish between the two, you can use a key or a similar object to gently scratch the back of a sample. If it leaves a mark, it’s likely pure artificial stone. Quartz stone, on the other hand, will not show any scratches. Another test is to tap two pieces of quartz stone together—this often produces a distinctive, almost "burning" sound.
Ask About the Brand and Price When Purchasing
When buying countertops, it's important to ask about the brand. Established brands like DuPont and Corian have a long history of producing high-quality artificial stone. Smaller or unknown brands may not offer the same level of quality, especially in terms of color consistency and environmental safety. Some products may even be completely unbranded, which increases the risk of poor quality.
In terms of price, mid-range artificial stone typically costs around 1,000 yuan per meter. Quartz stone of the same quality usually costs 200–300 yuan more. If a merchant offers a price significantly lower than this—especially under 1,000 yuan—it might indicate that the product uses too much stone powder instead of high-quality materials. This can lead to issues such as water absorption and structural problems over time.
Check Stability When Accepting the Water
Countertops come in various forms—some are sold by square meter, others by linear meter. Make sure to clarify the pricing method before purchasing. Also, ask whether the finished product will be delivered directly to your home. A complete countertop includes not only the surface but also the rear and front retaining walls, as well as additional support structures underneath.
Another important factor is the shape of the cutouts—whether they are round or square. After installation, check if the countertop is perfectly flat. One simple way to do this is to pour water on the surface and see if it flows in a specific direction. If it does, the countertop may not be level. An uneven surface can cause instability when cutting vegetables, increasing the risk of cracks or damage. Always confirm with the installer to ensure the surface is smooth and properly aligned.
â– Maintenance Tips
Avoid High Temperatures and Strong Impacts
Whether it's pure artificial stone or quartz stone, direct contact with hot pots or hot water bottles should be avoided. It's best to place them on a trivet or heat-resistant mat. Frequent exposure to extreme temperature changes can cause the material to degrade over time. Additionally, avoid using sharp objects to touch the countertop or cabinet doors, as this can lead to unsightly scratches.
Always use a cutting board when preparing food. Not only does this prevent knife marks, but it also makes cleaning easier and helps preserve the countertop's appearance.
Maintain with Cooking Oil
For daily maintenance, you can apply a few drops of cooking oil to the surface and wipe it evenly with a clean cloth. Both quartz and artificial stone have tiny pores on their surface. The oil helps seal these pores, preventing dirt and stains from penetrating. This simple maintenance method is cost-effective and helps extend the lifespan of your countertop, keeping it looking new for longer.
The vibration sensor(Vibration Transmitter) is one of the key components in the testing technology of Vibration Measurement. Its main function is to receive the mechanical quantity and convert it into a proportional electric quantity. Because it is also an electromechanical conversion device. So we sometimes call it a transducer, a vibration pickup, etc.
Commonly used vibration sensors are as follows:
1. Piezoelectric resonant
The piezoelectric sheet is used to receive the vibration signal, and the resonance frequency of the piezoelectric sheet is relatively high. In order to reduce the resonance frequency, it is realized by increasing the mass of the piezoelectric sheet vibrating body, and using a spring ball instead of an appendage to reduce the two resonance frequencies and enhance the vibration effect. Its advantages are high sensitivity and simple structure. However, the signal needs to be amplified and sent to a TTL circuit or a single-chip microcomputer circuit, but it is enough to use a triode single-stage amplification
2. mechanical vibration
In the traditional vibration detection method, after being vibrated, the spring ball vibrates at a reduced amplitude for a long time, and this vibration is easy to be detected by the detection circuit. The vibration output switch signal is determined by the output impedance and the resistance value of the matching output. According to the input impedance of the detection circuit, it can be made into a high-impedance output mode.
3. Micro Vibration Sensor
The mechanical vibration sensor is miniaturized, the vibration body is carbonized and sealed, and its working performance is more reliable. The output switching signal is directly connected with the TTL circuit and or the input circuit of the single-chip microcomputer, and the circuit structure is simple. The output impedance is high, and the quiescent working current is small.
Advantages of Vibration Sensors
1. Small size and light weight. It can be applied to some vibration test systems that are greatly affected by the additional mass.
2. It has a wider response frequency range of 4Hz-2000Hz than the magnetoelectric speed sensor, and the mechanical moving parts are not easy to damage
