Prospects for domestic solar thermal power generation market

The 7th New Energy International Summit Forum & Expo, co-organized by China Haiyang Energy Group Co., Ltd., took place at the Beijing Exhibition Hall. This event brought together industry leaders, researchers, and experts to discuss the future of renewable energy, with a particular focus on solar thermal power (CSP). According to reports from China Energy News, the forum aimed to accelerate the domestic market for light and heat technologies, emphasizing the importance of starting from the early stages of the CSP market. Xue Liming, Chairman of China Haiyang Energy Group, attended the event and delivered a keynote speech, highlighting the company's commitment to advancing the solar thermal sector. The R&D Center Director also gave a significant address, while Jiang Xinmin, Deputy Director of the Energy Research Institute under the National Development and Reform Commission, and Wang Zhifeng, a researcher from the Institute of Electrical Engineering at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, shared their insights. Representatives from the European Solar Thermal Power Generation Association and various industry players were also in attendance, underscoring the growing global interest in CSP technology. The forum opened in a warm and collaborative atmosphere. Xue Liming delivered an enthusiastic speech, stating that China's CSP industry has reached a pivotal moment—transitioning from technological development to large-scale application. He called on all stakeholders to work together to officially launch the domestic CSP market, marking a new era for clean energy in the country. Throughout the event, leading experts presented on a range of topics, including "Development and Policy of Solar Thermal Power in China," "Progress and Prospects of the Global Solar Thermal Power Industry," "Research and Application of High-Temperature Molten Salt Heat Storage," and "Coteothermal Power Plant Construction and Key Technologies for Trough Mirror EPC." A high-level dialogue was held on the topic of "Opening Roadmap for China’s CSP Market," featuring perspectives from Jiang Xinmin, Xue Liming, Wang Zhifeng, and Professor Wu Yuting from Beijing University of Technology. All participants agreed that China's power generation market is beginning to take off, with strong potential for future growth. Currently, solar thermal power in China has transitioned from research and development to practical application. Government support, along with favorable policies and rapid industrial development, have significantly boosted the sector. The domestic CSP market is now in its early stages of expansion, signaling a promising future for the industry. Notably, Chengdu Zende Subsidiary, established by Chengdu Haiyang in Shuangliu, completed its first product offline on June 5. This achievement marks a major step forward for Haiyang in becoming a global leader in photothermal equipment production, reinforcing its position as a key player in the renewable energy landscape.
