Henan's first coal assembly survey project won the first battle

The field work for the western coal survey project in Jixian County, Henan Province, has recently passed its acceptance test. Preliminary estimates indicate that the coal resources within the self-contained exploration area have reached 14.46 billion tons. This marks a significant milestone as it is the first coal resource survey project of this kind conducted in Henan Province. The project consists of 12 sub-projects and covers a total census area of 2,277.22 square kilometers. It involved 72 designed drill holes, with a total drilling footage of 100,340 meters, and 44,700 geophysical exploration points. The Henan Coal Mining General Institute took full technical responsibility for the project, working alongside 10 different geological exploration units across the region. By August, the field operations of the western coal census project were fully completed. A total of 52,666 two-dimensional seismic points were collected, along with a drilling workload of 101,686.74 meters across 68 holes, and a logging workload of 101,485.17 meters over the same number of holes. According to initial assessments, the total (333)+(334) coal resources in the area amount to 14.46 billion tons. This includes 1.972 billion tons of shallow coal resources found at depths less than 1,500 meters, 7.003 billion tons of coal located between 1,500 and 2,000 meters, and 5.485 billion tons of deep coal resources found below 2,000 meters. This achievement not only highlights the rich potential of coal resources in western Henan but also sets a new standard for future mineral exploration projects in the region. The successful completion of the project demonstrates the effectiveness of modern survey techniques and the collaborative efforts of multiple institutions working together toward a common goal.
