Luo Wei explained that, based on human body functionality and comfort levels, the government has established specific size standards for common furniture like tables, chairs, and beds.

Even a small deviation from these standards—just a few centimeters—can lead to long-term issues such as spinal misalignment, lower back strain, or even vision problems. Below are some standard measurements for common furniture items to help guide your choices.

1. Bed: A healthy bed height is around 440mm (measured from the floor to the top of the mattress). Many people prefer low-profile beds for their minimalist look, while others raise the mattress using storage cabinets. However, if the bed is too high or too low, it can cause leg discomfort and nerve pressure over time.

2. Pillow: For adults, a pillow height of about 150mm is ideal. Elderly individuals and children may benefit from slightly lower pillows. The right height ensures proper neck support, promotes better sleep, and prevents circulation issues, especially important for growing children and older adults.
