China's first bull-class thrust Hall thruster successfully ignited

Recently, China's first 20-kilowatt high-power Hall thruster developed by the 801 Institute of Aerospace Science and Technology Group successfully completed the ignition test. The ignition time has reached 8 hours and the number of ignitions has exceeded 30 times. The successful research and development of the thruster has achieved the leap of the thrust of the Hall electric thruster in our country from the milli-class to the cattle-class.

During the test, the thruster has reliable ignition, stable operation, and stable working parameters. The measured thrust is 1 N, the specific impulse is 3068 seconds, the efficiency is greater than 70%, and the performance index reaches the international advanced level.

It is reported that the thruster adopts new technologies such as hollow cathode centering and magnetic shield long life; in the development, it has successively overcome key technologies such as high-current hollow cathodes, lightweight miniaturized accelerators, high-efficiency thermal management, and high-voltage high-power stable discharge. , With large thrust, high specific impulse, long working life, high reliability, etc., can be large GEO (geostationary orbit) satellites, medium / heavy all electric thrust platforms, deep space probes, earth orbit space transportation platforms, space ferry The orbital maneuvering of vehicles and other spacecraft provides efficient power support in tasks such as orbital position preservation and attitude control.
