Saint-Gobain Solar Introduces SolarBond Border Tape for Photovoltaic Materials

To help component manufacturers in the region, Belgium (November 2, 2011) - As China becomes the world's largest solar module manufacturing center, component manufacturers continue to increase product capacity is to ensure more revenue at the same time. Without material overflow and curing time, the tape can be immediately bonded and meet the requirements of durability and elasticity, leading to faster production speed and cost-effectiveness. Test results show that SolarBondTM border tapes are UL-certified and tested at TÃœV Rheinland through adhesive durability, etc. This is a third-party organization that has been tested and generally recognized according to the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) industry standard.

SolarBondTM InFrame Foam Sealing Material

For automated production lines, the next generation of available pumping materials can help solar module manufacturers increase productivity. SolarBondTM InFrame Instant Foaming Sealing Material is a smart, innovative and fast-framed solution that combines the advantages of tape and silicone seals and eliminates their inadequacies. This is an instant foaming one-component mixture, which is more suitable for filling gaps in the absence of overflow. This is not achievable with silicone sealing materials. This can help manufacturers reduce costs - including time and money - without the necessary material waste and labor required for cleaning. In addition, SolarBondTM InFrame foams work continuously in a heated state, ensuring accuracy and high bond strength when directly contacting glass, backplanes, and frames. This ensures that the components can be carried immediately after the frame is assembled - a process that takes advantage of the fast curing of the bezel and discards the time required for the silicone to cure - reducing the dead time of the device and increasing productivity.
During assembly of components, the reduction of three of the four corners also promotes cost reduction. The use of SolarBondTM InFrame Foam Sealing Materials in conjunction with Saint-Gobain Solar's single-frame system can help manufacturers reduce material requirements and cost for individual components. This innovative solution enables a single operation to be completed in 45 seconds, helping Chinese manufacturers to produce solar modules with very little effort at a small cost.
