Fire monitor performance requirements
1. Appearance
The surface of the casting should be smooth and free of defects such as cracks, pores, shrinkage holes, and sand holes that affect the strength and performance. Welds should be flat and uniform, and they must not have defects such as incomplete penetration, burn-through, gallbladder, and other detrimental strength and appearance quality. The paint coating on the outer surface of the fire monitor should be smooth, uniform, free from bubbles, obvious flow marks, and cracks, which will affect the appearance quality.
2. General parts performance
The mechanical properties and chemical composition of the casting materials shall comply with the relevant provisions of GB/T 1173, GB/T 1176, GB/T 1348 and GB/T 9439, respectively. Fire-fighting guns should be made of corrosion-resistant materials or their materials should be treated with anti-corrosion so that they can meet the requirements for corrosion of the corresponding use environment and medium.
3. Handling performance
The pitch slewing mechanism, horizontal slewing mechanism, and each control handle (wheel) of the fire monitor should be flexible and the transmission mechanism is safe and reliable. The pitch slewing mechanism of the fire monitor should have a self-locking function or a locking device.
The movable fire monitor should be stable and reliable when it is injected at the minimum elevation angle within the entire horizontal rotation angle, and there must be no slippage and rollover phenomenon.
4. Water tightness
Before the pressurized part of the fire monitor (excluding the foam gun barrel) is sealed by the water pressure test, the pressurized part of the fire monitor is closed, filled with water and the air is removed, and then slowly pressurized to 1.1 times the maximum working pressure for 3 minutes. After the hydrostatic sealing test, no leaks should occur at the joints.
5. Hydraulic strength
Before the pressurized part of the fire monitor (excluding the foam gun barrel) is subjected to the hydraulic strength test, the pressurized part of the fire monitor is closed, filled with water and the air is removed, and then slowly pressurized to 1.5 times the maximum working pressure for 3 minutes. After performing the hydraulic strength test, the artillery body shall not have the defects of sweating, cracks and permanent deformation.
6. The fire monitor shall be equipped with a pressure gauge in the proper position of the main path of the gun, and the accuracy of the gauge shall not be lower than 2.5.
