Jiangsu Province intensifies the standardization and creation of labor protection work

Recently, the provincial labor union organized a team of labor protection experts to visit Zhejiang Tianneng Battery (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd., Xiangyang County Second Automobile Transportation Co., Ltd., and Donghai County Tobacco Co., Ltd. The visits were conducted in strict compliance with the "Creation Review Rules for Labor Protection Work of Trade Unions" to evaluate the establishment of provincial-level labor protection demonstration labor unions within these companies.

This year, the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions updated the "Review Details" based on the actual conditions of the work, emphasizing the standardization of safety production to make the process more targeted and practical. During the review, the team inspected data, visited production sites, and thoroughly examined each company’s labor protection measures. The process was not just about evaluation but also focused on guidance and support. The team documented potential hazards at the site and provided on-site explanations and recommendations to help companies enhance their safety management. These efforts were well-received by the enterprises, who appreciated the collaborative approach.

According to reports, the Jiangsu Federation of Trade Unions launched the “Standardization and Creation of Trade Union Labor Protection Work” initiative in 2004, making it the first province to implement such an activity nationwide. Over the years, local labor unions have actively participated in the creation of model labor protection units, aligning with the provincial guidelines. In the past eight years, these activities have provided a clear framework for trade unions at all levels, encouraging enterprise management to pay more attention to union work and enabling unions to better serve employees. As a result, employees have benefited from improved workplace safety and a stronger sense of security. This has fostered a positive interaction among enterprises, trade unions, and workers. In 2013, the Provincial Federation of Trade Unions plans to further advance these initiatives, promote safe and sustainable enterprise development, and ensure the health and well-being of all employees.
